This IDC Market Perspective highlights some of the announcements by Nutanix at its annual global .NEXT event on May 21 to 23, 2024, at the Fira Barcelona in Spain. During the event, the company announced the expansion of its collaboration with hardware partners such as Cisco and Dell Technologies. It also showcased some of the capabilities of Project Beacon, being able to deliver IaaS and PaaS natively everywhere, and the Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) coming from its acquisition of D2iQ. Lastly, the ubiquitous topic was AI: the launch of GPT-in-a-Box 2.0, support for NVIDIA NIM, and streamlined deployment of HuggingFace models in DX clusters were the biggest announcements in that field."Nutanix must be more aggressive in its strategic efforts going after VMware's installed base," said Andrew Buss, senior research director at IDC. "In what is a clearly advantageous environment, it can cause an impact in the market, but it needs to act fast and be bold doing it."
