This IDC study provides a forecast for the worldwide intelligent process automation (IPA) software market for 2023-2027."The IPA market in 2022 underperformed last year's forecast. The next five years promise to be disruptive as vendors rapidly integrate and utilize generative AI in their portfolios, broadening use cases and potentially transforming development. That said, buyers are more conservative and focused on demonstrable business value delivered by automation," according to Maureen Fleming, program vice president in IDC's AI and Automation Research practice. "Vendors will be challenged over the forecast to deliver differentiating capabilities supported by AI while also putting into place the planning and metrics that demonstrate value."
