This IDC Perspective documents the initial stage of the modernization exercise undertaken by Route Mobile to become a versatile communications platform-as-a-service (CPaaS) provider operating from a modern cloud-based IT infrastructure. "Migration and modernization to cloud is a complex exercise that needs commitment from IT, LOB teams, and more importantly from the leadership team. Such projects should correctly align with the business objectives and work toward achieving customer benefits. Enhancing customer experience is important, but organizations should also invest to open new revenue streams, drive agility, flexibility, and operational efficiency; and focus on improving their employee experience," says Rajiv Ranjan, associate research director, Cloud Research, India.
