The 2Ku inflight connection and streaming entertainment system from Intelsat, which is already flying with more than 150 aircraft in Alaska's fleet, will be installed on the aircraft when it is delivered. Deliveries of new Alaska Airlines 737-9s outfitted with Intelsat have already started and will continue through 2024. Since 2010, the two businesses have worked together to provide IFEC (inflight entertainment and connectivity) on the airline's fleet of Embraer 175, Boeing 737NG, and Airbus A320 family aircraft. Together, they also introduced the world's first free in-flight messaging service in 2017, and Intelsat continues to support Alaska's "most movies in the sky" programme, which offers over 700 films and TV episodes.
