About Printer

A printer is an electronic device used to print text and images from computers on papers or a printable medium of different sizes. There are two types of printers: impact and non-impact. An impact printer produces text and images on paper by pressing the print ribbon onto the paper using pins. On the other hand, a non-impact printer does not strike on a paper to print a test or an image, and it is noiseless compared to an impact printer. A printer can also be classified on the basis of the print technology it uses; the most popular ones include inkjet printer, laser printer, dot-matrix printer, and thermal printer. Dot-matrix is an impact printer, whereas inkjet and laser are non-impact printers. Inkjet printers form an image on the paper by dropping tiny droplets of ink on the paper through small nozzles. Laser printers use cylindrical drums that roll electrically charged beam onto the paper.
