As companies better understand the potential benefits and gain experience with AI, the adoption of AI on endpoint systems will continue to grow rapidly," says Nina Turner, research director in IDC's Enabling Technologies and Semiconductor team. "Datacenters will not be able to keep up with the demand for AI processing, and integrated AI-efficient host processors or discrete AI accelerators for endpoint systems will be key enablers of AI. Semiconductor companies that can also provide strong software and ecosystem support are more likely to win."
