An infrared (IR) thermometer is a device that measures the surface temperature of a subject by reading its thermal radiation levels. IR forehead thermometers have recently seen an upsurge in popularity due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak, offering a safe and effective way to screen people for elevated temperatures.
