Description

China is one of the fastest growing economies in the world due to growing industries and trade which has in-turn resulted in large amount of waste material. It is extremely imperative for China to dispose off this waste in the most efficient manner in order to preserve its environment. This huge chuck of waste along with Chinese governments concerns to preserve its environment makes China one of the most important markets for waste to energy (WTE) plants. The demand for renewable energy in China is increasing and the government of China is all set to give greater value to its renewable energy segment in their energy plan. China's twelfth five-year plan has the agenda of installing more than 100 WTE plants during 2011-15. It is forecasted that China's share in global Waste-to-Energy plants market will grow almost double by the end of 2018. The government of China is taking initiatives and supporting investment schemes in Waste-to-Energy plants under Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) and Build-Operate-Own (BOO) models.
