India has significant resources of copper, lead, zinc, coal, nickel, iron ore and gold. At the end of April 2013, the country had 12.2 million tonnes (Mt) of copper, 12Mt of lead and 35.9Mt of zinc metal resources. The country's copper mine production measured an estimated 35,000 tonnes (t) in 2014, while lead mine production measured 112,000t and zinc mine production measured 800,988t. In India, base metals are largely found across the states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand.
