The COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on demand for clinical information systems globally. With a significant number of countries in lockdown in Q2 and Q3 of 2020, admission to hospital for non-elective or less critical procedures were placed on hold. Consequently, the demand for anaesthesia solutions to be utilised in surgeries was much lower in 2020 in those countries that were most impacted by the pandemic. In some countries, the 'off-label' usage of anaesthesia devices as a mechanical ventilator was granted. This resulted in a temporary uplift in demand for solutions where ventilator supply was most restricted.

Fastest revenue growth overall is projected for Low-end anaesthesia devices; these solutions offer basic levels of care in emerging regions at lower costs. However, with increasing demand for solutions that help to optimise patient care provision and offer a higher level of functionality, most revenue growth is projected for premium solutions.
