In 2012 the value of the primary service market in Poland was in stagnation - the change in market value reached -0.1%. The forecasts for 2013 are even more pessimistic. This motivates operators to try and soften the expected fall, in which value added and multimedia services play a significant role. Operators try to develop their offer in fields alternative to their basic activity. They are increasingly present, for instance, on the market of pay TV (in value terms the segment was larger in 2012 than the market of fixed telephony) as well as mobile internet. The activity of operators in the segment of value added services does not end here. The possibilities of growth turn out to be broad, and operators often try various initiatives. New projects are in development, e.g. in the segment of geolocation, music, games, or mobile press and books.
