Google ventured into interactive sensors market, with Project Soli, which is regarded as the company's most ambitious projects till date. Google's Advanced Technology and Projects group (ATAP) has been working on this project since 2015. Soli uses RADAR technology to track movements of fingers and, in turn, interact with various smart devices. The company has been designing a chip that can be placed in devices, like phones, gaming, cars, IoT devices, and computers. This chip has an interaction sensor that can capture motion of fingers at a rate of 10,000 frames per second. In terms of market sales, North America is expected to lead the market. Owing to Google's focus on the US market, the alpha and beta versions of this product are likely to be initially released in the United States.

Ultra-compact Size of the Sensor

The Soli chip will be of the size 8 x 10 millimeter. The sensor and the antenna fit into this tiny package. The size of the chip enables it to fit into the tiniest of wearables and devices.
