目次

Metal Bulletin Research has worked with the leading market consultant on the bauxite/alumina markets, Martin Haller, to bring the most comprehensive, informed and revealing study into the sector. Four months of extensive research (including knowledge accumulated from direct field research in Indonesia, Vietnam and other countries) allow us to provide you with the most up-to-date, detailed and independent view on the market and companies out to 2030.

Key Questions Answered in This Report?

  • What direction will Chinese alumina imports take?
  • Where will the new alumina supply outside of China come from?
  • Guinea - too little too late? Will it ever realize its huge potential?
  • Has the bauxitealumina sector in Australia and South America peaked?
  • Whither Europe and North America - further long run decline?
  • The Middle East - selfsufficiency one day?
  • What are the prospects for alternatives to bauxite - coal ash and clays - in the production of alumina?

The global bauxite and metallurgical alumina industry is facing critical issues today ranging from the strategic direction China will take, future supply sources, as well as future pricing arrangements - among other considerations. Over the last 20 years the global supply of bauxite has been dominated by mines in Australia, South America and West Africa. However, with increasing demand from independent Asian alumina refineries it is unlikely that their needs will, or even can, continue to be met by existing industry players.

The successful development of new mines within China and elsewhere in Southeast Asia will be vital in coming years to ensure that demand is met.

Metal Bulletin Research's in-depth study, A Strategic Global Outlook for the Bauxite and Alumina Industry out to 2030, provides coverage by region and major markets for supply, demand and pricing.

Assessment of all the key bauxite and alumina players in the market - who's long, who's short? How will those positions change over the coming decade?

Analysis of the economics and political situation of bauxite mining and alumina production in the key mining regions, South America, West Africa, Australia and Asia.

Balances and flows for each market including specific company production and strategic profiles detailing MGA balances, bauxite supply by operation, MGA supply by smelter, total alumina supply by operation and primary supply by smelter annually out to 2030.
