Sputtering is the thin film deposition manufacturing process at the core of today's semiconductors, disk drives, CDs, and optical devices industries. It is a physical vapour deposition process for depositing thin films. Sputtering means ejecting materials from a target and depositing it on a substrate, such as a silicon wafer, display panel, and optical film.
