New Mercator Advisory Group research examines the market for self-checkout terminals

Boston, MA - March 14, 2013 - The customer checkout process is a high priority for merchants in part because it affects the customer's shopping experience. The merchant does not want the customer's final interaction during shopping to be unpleasant.

Merchants invest significant time and money to optimize the checkout process and ensure that it is expedient and secure and offers sufficient customer service to leave the customer with a positive impression.
