This report presents an overview of the market of lithium and its compounds in the CIS. The report was prepared on the basis of the study and analysis of data of the Federal State Statistics Service of Russia (FSSS RF), Federal Customs Service of Russia (FCS), official statistics of domestic rail transportation of Russian Federation, as well as InfoMine data. The report consists of seven chapters, contains 89 pages, including 31 tables, 15 figures and 2 Appendices.

The first chapter is devoted to the mineral resource base and production of lithium products abroad. It presents data on world production of lithium resources, prices for lithium products. The chapter describes company - largest producers of lithium compounds and raw materials.

The second chapter is devoted to the mineral resource base of lithium in the Russian Federation and countries of CIS. A brief description of the balance deposits of lithium and promising raw material objects is given.

The third chapter analyses the foreign trade operations in lithium and its compounds in 2000-2010. It presents data on exports and imports of the products, estimates regional pattern of the supply.

The fourth chapter contains information about the production of lithium and lithium compounds in Russia in 2000-2010, the main producers, GOSTs (state standards) and specifications for manufactured lithium products.

The fifth chapter is devoted to the consumption of lithium and its compounds in Russia. The chapter describes the enterprise-consumers of lithium products, presents calculation of the supply-demand balance of lithium and its compounds in 2001-2010.

In the sixth chapter of the report the structure of consumption of lithium and its compounds in industry is presented.

The seventh chapter is devoted to description of programs to develop Russian lithium industry and new projects.

The eighth chapter of the report contains forecast of production and consumption of lithium and its compounds in Russia up to 2017.

In the Appendices, contact information on producers and consumers of lithium and its compounds is given.
