Abstract

This report is currently available in Russian language only. However, we can provide an English version of the report within 3 weeks after receiving a payment.

The report is devoted to research of current standing of market of sodium chloride in the CIS/Russia and prospects of its developments.

The report is composed of 7 Sections, contains 139 pages, including 57 Tables, 33 Figures and 2 Appendices. The first Section of the report presents brief characteristics of standing of world market of sodium chloride: reserves, production and prices.

The second Section presents data on volumes of reserves and geographic location of deposits of sodium chloride in the CIS and Russia.

The third Section of the report is devoted to volumes of mining and production of sodium chloride in Russia and CIS countries for the period of 2000-2007.

The fourth Section presents characteristics of current standing of the greatest producers of sodium chloride in the CIS.

The fifth Section of the report describes foreign trade operations in sodium chloride of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

The sixth Section analyses pattern of consumption of sodium chloride in Russia, describes the main end-uses and the main company-consumers of salt.

The seventh Section gives forecast of development of Russian market of sodium chloride up to 2015.

The Appendices present addresses and contact information on greatest enterprises, manufacturing sodium chloride in the CIS, as well as map of location of greatest deposits of sodium chloride in the CIS.

The report is a "desk" study. As information sources, we used a lot of issues, first of all, data of state bodies - State Statistic Committee CIS, Federal Service of State Statistics of Russia (FSSS), State Committee on Statistics of Ukraine, State Registers of Mineral Resources Reserves, Federal Customs Service of Russia (FCS), State Customs Services of Ukraine and Belarus, Kazakhstan' s Statistic Agency. Besides, data of enterprises, own database of "InfoMine", materials from mass-media and Internet were used.

This all allowed authors to draw actual picture of market of sodium chloride in the CIS/Russia and its prospects. Notice that, speaking about production of sodium chloride in the CIS, experts of "InfoMine" considered accepted that definition of the produced product - sodium chloride - includes, in addition to edible sodium chloride, also brines, processed further by chemical enterprises, as well as technical and feed salt. In addition, technical sodium chloride and and brines are obtained by Russian potassium companies in the course of halurgical processing of sylvinite.

All the data on the brines and volumes of the brines mining are presented in equivalent of solid product.
