About Oxidising Bleaching Agents

Bleaching agents are usually oxidizers or reducers. Oxidizing bleaching agents constitute a major portion of bleaching agents. The most commonly used oxidizing bleaching agents are either chlorine-based, peroxide-based or enzyme-based. These oxidising bleaching agents are consumed for various applications including disinfecting textiles, materials or water, stain removal, effluent control, color change or retention and for deodorizing substrates. The major end users of these bleaching agents are pulp and paper, textile, water and wastewater treatment, laundry and healthcare. Bleaches also are used in a wide range of household applications. Increased innovation in the area of chemical bleaching has resulted in finer products that not only are cost effective but also emit less contaminants into air, water, and soil.
