About MEMS Inertial Sensors

MEMS inertial sensors are devices that detect and measure tilt, shock, rotation, vibration or any other types of motion. These sensors are mainly of three types, namely accelerometers, gyroscopes and magnetometers. Inertial sensors were earlier used in aerospace and military navigation, but due to the introduction of MEMS technology, the sensors are now used in segments, like automotive, consumer, medical, industrial and communications. The MEMS technology has helped to reduce the size of the sensors making it cost effective and efficient, and compatible at the same time.
