"Internet of Things in India and the PRC is developing at rapid pace, but the PRC has the advantage in terms of the modernization of telecommunications fixed and mobile infrastructures. Nevertheless, there is a tremendous upside for India with LTE-enabled IoT services including video for agriculture, Smart Cities, transportation, energy, and homeland security," says Bill Rojas, adjunct research director, IDC Asia/Pacific. "As the PRC embarks on its 5G journey, IoT and AI will play pivotal roles in the digital transformation of most if not all industries including healthcare, agriculture, Smart Cities, transportation, retail, and banking," he adds.
