当レポートでは、IDCによるEmerging Tech Surveyの調査結果に基づき、米国のホームIoTアプリケーションに対する受け入れと関心の増加について検証して、体系的な情報を提供しています。
This IDC study presents a cut of the results from IDC's Emerging Tech Survey, which found a continued growing acceptance of and interest in home Internet of Things applications in the United States, such as home automation, control, and video monitoring applications, with many applications reaching their highest levels of interest in the dozen years that IDC has been surveying on the issue.
"We're still in the early days of the development of the home Internet of Things. In the consumer world, the early phase of new technologies generally means that implementations with push button simplicity and clear-cut value propositions prevail over more complex solutions that promise broader benefits, and it's likely that this phase will last at least several more years," said Jonathan Gaw, research manager of IDC's Connected Consumer program.
