This IDC study summarizes the results of IDC Asia/Pacific's2104 Bring Your Own Device End-User Survey. This survey spans 12 countries in Asia/Pacific that included Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, New Zealand, Malaysia, the People's Republic of China, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand. The study explores the user habits and utilization differences between smartphones, tablets, and notebooks across the region. It also provides a first look at the consumer sentiment on Windows 8.1-based devices in a BYOD model.

"In developed countries, enterprises are now offering users the choice of corporate-issued smartphones and tablets. At the same time, companies in developed countries tend to have better defined policies that restrict the use of personal devices; both of these factors are affecting BYOD in developed regions," says Ian Song, research manager of enterprise mobility at IDC Asia/Pacific.
