This IDC study presents findings from an IDC survey, conducted in 4Q13, of U.S. enterprise datacenter personnel to gather information on current and future trends in the enterprise datacenter market as well as an analysis of present and future trends for this market.

"The survey revealed several important findings that reinforced our ongoing research into this market," said Kelly Quinn, research manager, IDC's Datacenter Trends and Strategies. "Respondents to our survey are facing daunting issues around how to improve their power and cooling solutions and increase their energy efficiency overall. The data also showed two critical paths enterprise datacenter operators are traveling in an effort to expand their datacenters without having to resort to building new ones."
