This IDC study provides an analysis and sizing of the Western European human capital management (HCM) and payroll applications market for 2010---2012 and a forecast for 2013---2017. The study segments the HCM and payroll applications market by functional market (HCM and payroll applications), HCM segment (core HR, workforce management, recruiting, compensation, learning, and HR performance management), deployment model (SaaS and on-premises), and Western European country.

"The European HCM applications market is a market characterized by very high demand. Despite being a $2 billion market in 2012, it grew 11% in constant currency. In the first half of 2013, it grew 10%. Talent management applications grew very strongly, yet it has significant potential in Europe. European survey data suggests that for each talent management area, the adoption rate of packaged software among organizations with more than 250 employees is only one in every seven to eight organizations. IDC considers talent management, software as a service, the use of consumer technologies to make HCM applications instantly usable and accessible to employees and managers, and social-enabled applications for more engaging and collaborative HCM applications as key drivers of future market growth," said Bo Lykkegaard, research director, IDC European Enterprise Applications.
