The impact of digital-only microconsoles, gaming-capable streaming media players, and smart TVs that support gaming services are briefly examined as well."Given the smaller size of Microsoft's Xbox platform install base, it clearly outpunched its weight class from a digital game-related spending standpoint in 2022. Nintendo Switch, meanwhile, showed its age on several fronts, especially from a hardware shipment/sales angle.
