In a process for making cyclohexylbenzene, hydrogen and benzene are contacted with a potential catalyst under possible hydroalkylation conditions for creating an effluent comprising of cyclohexylbenzene. The catalyst contains a molecular filter composite, an inorganic oxide which is dissimilar from the said molecular filter as well as one hydrogenation metal, wherein at least 50 weight percent of assumed hydrogenation metal is supported on the inorganic oxide.
Further the inorganic oxide has an average particle size below 40 microns (μm). All the elements are well-combined to attain a high purity cyclohexylbenzene product formed with an extremely high energy efficiency, high purity and high yield.
