Since 1 January 2014, all cigarette brands in Vietnam started to be printed with graphic health warnings. These compulsory warnings had a negative impact on volume sales of tobacco in 2014. They help to increase community awareness about the risks of smoking, causing current smokers to reduce their cigarette consumption and preventing young people from adopting the smoking habit. In addition, repeated warnings about harmful effects of tobacco on public media.
