Power

In 2012-2013 the Emerging EMEA data center markets experienced positive growth in terms of their power requirements. Total regional power demand was up by over 13% compared with the previous 12-month period. Data center operators in Eastern Europe and Turkey accounted for the highest rates of power consumption growth. The lowest rates of growth occurred in the UAE and the Gulf States. The Emerging EMEA Data Center Trends report offers insight into which industries have the highest power requirements for their data centers. Outsourcing

By mid-2013 the outsourced share of the Emerging EMEA data center footprint had increased to 19.3%. This was up from 15.1% in the previous year. The use of outsourcing was highest in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States and lowest in Russia. The highest growth in the use of outsourcing occurred in Eastern Europe and the Gulf States. Across the region as a whole, public administration and the IT services sector were prominent in driving the uptake of outsourcing. The Emerging EMEA Data Center Trends report provides insight into the type of enterprises that are driving the shift towards outsourced business models. It also examines trends in the use of specific outsourcing service models.

Investment

Over the past 12 months the Emerging EMEA data center markets have continued to experience positive investment growth. The total amount invested in facility equipment & solutions and IT optimization strategies & solutions rose from US$6.7 billion in 2011-12 to US$7.4 billion in 2012- 13 (reflecting an increase of 10.4%). Total facilities and IT investment is predicted to grow by another 5.5% in 2013- 14 to US$7.8 billion. The Emerging EMEA Data Center Trends report examines both the drivers and avenues of current investment trends, as well as the strategies and technologies that will shape investment patterns over the next 12 months.
