The CSIL Report ‘World furniture Outlook’ is the CSIL flagship publication, issued twice a year, in July and December, providing status and prospects of the world furniture sector.
This edition, ‘World Furniture Outlook 2021’, provides an overview of the global furniture sector through historical series of basic data (furniture production, consumption, imports, exports 2010-2019 and 2020 preliminary estimates) and prospects of the furniture market for the years 2021 and 2022 for 100 countries.
CSIL constantly monitors the international trade of furniture including unpredictable circumstances and uncertainties affecting the global market scenario. Furniture market forecasts for 100 countries included in this study reflect CSIL's in-depth knowledge of the markets and its ongoing evaluation.

The main furniture importing country on a global level is the USA, followed at a distance by Germany, France, the UK, and Japan. CSIL preliminary data for 2020 show substantial decreases in furniture imports for all the major countries.
In the last ten years, the international trade of furniture has consistently amounted to about 1% of the international trade of manufactures.
After the major contraction in 2020, growth will resume in 2021 and the pre-crisis level, in current USD, is expected to be attained in 2022.
