The report offers a comprehensive picture of the outdoor furniture industry for ten Western European countries, analyzing the sector performance, product trends, type of destination (residential vs contract), distribution channels, the competitive system and its main players.

The report offers data on production, exports, imports, consumption of outdoor furniture by country.

For each country imports and exports of outdoor furniture are broken down by country and geographical area of origin/destination.

An overview of product trends and of the distribution system is also provided for each country, with sales broken down by distribution channel for selected countries. A list of outdoor furniture distributors is also included for each country.

Short profiles with addresses of over 100 outdoor furniture manufacturers and importers are provided for each country.

The countries covered are: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom.

Products covered include: seats, tables, benches, sun loungers, garden sofas, swing seats.

Product destination: residential and contract segment including "street contract" (restaurants, bars, cafés) and hotels, wellness hotels, public spaces.

Highlights

The main Western Europe producers of outdoor furniture are Germany, Italy, France and UK. These four countries together account for more than three quarter of European production. French and UK producers are focused on the domestic market, whereas the majority of Italian production is sold abroad. Export propensity is higher in the outdoor furniture segment if compared with the total furniture sector. The ratio is in the range of 45%. In this regards, the recent US economy recovery and the growth experienced by several Middle East countries constitute opportunities that several European players are not failing to grasp. At the same time, the outdoor furniture market, which is structurally open to imported items is seeing a continuous growth of imports, with South East Asia being a key trade partner.
