Consumption of lighting fixtures in Japan, estimated by CSIL worth USD 7.1 billion, increased by 8% in 2016 (data in USD). In YEN, 2016 shows a decreasing change: -3.1%. Better performance is shown by the Professional segment. LED share on total lighting fixtures market in Japan is over 60% in 2016 and it will reach 70% this year.

Europe as a whole exports some 80 million USD of lighting fixtures to Japan. Mainly Germany, Italy and France. Top ten players hold around 75% of the Japanese market for lighting fixtures. Philips Lighting is the main not Local player.

Consumption of lighting fixtures in South Korea is worth almost USD 2.1 billion at factory price in 2016, a 2% increase (in USD) compared to the year before. Over 27% of the national consumption is satisfied by imports.

During the last five years, South Korea registered an average 3% growth of GDP, and lighting fixtures sales increased by 5% as a yearly average. LED based lighting fixtures weighted just 15% of the market in 2012 and they estimated to have reached 41% in 2016.
