The sales of bathroom products in the housing RMI segment grew quickly driven by the improvement of income and ending lifespan of housing built 10 to 20 years ago. The acceleration of urbanization and the improvement of infrastructure and housing conditions in tier 3 to tier 4 cities and vast rural areas boosted the demands for modern bathroom products to grow quickly in these areas. The bathroom market in tier 1 and tier 2 cities tended to be mature and demand is encouraged by the growing sales of housing inventories and secondary property, RMI and production innovation. In the non-housing sector, the increasing renovation and upgrading of hotels and offices, and growing construction of new shopping malls, schools, hospitals, and transportation hubs led to the demand for medium to high end bathroom products growing more quickly in 2016.

The market outlook for bathroom products in China is positive because of the expected medium to high growth of the economy, growth of new housing construction, strong demands in housing RMI segment and increasing construction and refurbishment activities in non-housing sector. Despite of the slowing down of new dwelling completion, the sales of housing inventories will expand from tier 1 to tier 2/3 cities in the next few years. In addition, the construction of new dwellings should continue to grow in tier 3/4 cities with the acceleration of urbanization and no controlling policies imposed. The construction of fully renovated housings will continue to grow quickly with the government supporting policies prevalent in more regions. The housing RMI segment will continue to grow quickly in tier 1 and tier 2 cities with the improvement of income and ending lifespan resulting in more housing being built than 10 to 20 years ago. The acceleration of urbanization and the government's plan on improving public infrastructure will continue to boost the demands for bathroom products in the non-housing segment in the future.
