To identify the presence of metallic or non-metallic objects hidden beneath the body cavity or clothing, X-ray security scanners use low-dose radiation that can penetrate clothing or human skin.

Because of growing illegal immigration and terrorist acts around the world, the demand for security screening systems has risen in recent years.
