中国の省・都市別市場予測データベース |
China Regional Forecasting Service |

The Economist Intelligence Unit's China Regional Forecasting Service is the most reliable and in-depth information service available for China's provinces and prefectures. Building on over 60 years' experience in providing country intelligence at a national level, we have developed this new service to help organisations to develop a deep understanding of the regional differences within China.
The service combines the Economist Intelligence Unit's vast expertise in geo-political analysis and forecasting with a database of economic forecasts and historical data. China Regional Forecasting Service marks the first time that we are able to offer regular analysis, forecasts and data at regional and city levels within a country.
The service will help you to gain valuable knowledge of which regions and cites are likely to offer your organisation the greatest reward. For each region you will get a complete picture of economic growth, changes in demographics and income and expenditure levels.
We don't just tell you what the current situation is. Critically, we provide five-year forecasts based on sophisticated models that help you to gauge the potential market size for your products and services.
We also look at the factors that impact on establishing operations in different Chinese regions. We examine the advantages and threats posed by infrastructure, the labour force, local politics and operating charges.
Reliable data and forecasts for China and its regions are notoriously difficult to come by. In developing the China Regional Forecasting Service, the Economist Intelligence Unit has devoted considerable resources to data collection, analysis and forecasting in Beijing. We have a unique in-country presence thanks to our network of analysts based in each province.
We have also developed close relationships within the Chinese National Bureau of Statistics which is the source of official data. This has enabled us to build a unique dataset with the bureau which allows us to compare a standard set of data across the provinces and prefectures and also to compare their growth over time. As part of developing this database, we have been able to overcome many of the technical difficulties associated with Chinese data.
For our forecasts, we have developed a full set of economic models for the provinces in collaboration with Manchester Economic Forecasting (MEF), in association with Manchester Business School, European Centre for Management Education. Using the latest modelling techniques alongside on the ground expertise from our economists based in Beijing, gives us unique insight and understanding of the future across the provinces. This includes understanding how the provinces interact with China as a whole and also the wider global economy and quantifying the impact of economic events such as the impact of the exchange rate on individual provinces.
We provide full reports for every one of China's 31 provinces. Each “Provincial outlook” contains all the information you need on the political, economic and business environment in the region.
Alongside our textual analysis, you have access to a rich database of historical and forecast provincial economic indicators. For each province we publish over 300 data series. Where relevant, data are provided back as far as 1952. Our forecast data is provided for a five-year horizon. Our easy-to-use data tool allows you to select the provinces, series and years you are interested in and to view, download and chart the data as you wish.
A part of the service, we publish annual reports for each of China's 40 most important prefectures. Each report provides analysis on the economic drivers that influence the city and the impact on business of issues such as cost and quality of labour and living conditions. We provide a ranking for each prefecture in terms of its economy, market opportunities, investment environment, infrastructure and labour market. This allows you to easily judge the strengths and weakness of prefectures in comparison with others.
Each prefecture report includes the results of our China City Rankings. This quantitative assessment of 44 cities (including benchmarks against Beijing and Shanghai) allows direct comparisons across cities on areas including the economy, market opportunities, labour, infrastructure and the environment. Based on official data from the National Bureau of Statistics, as well as a range of other supplementary sources, this proprietary ranking provides an objective evaluation of these factors across China's cities.
As with provinces, we provide you with a wealth of data with which to evaluate the attractiveness of prefectures. We publish over 100 data series for each prefecture. Included are data on local prices and real estate costs. Current and historical data are provided.
