Here is the Editor's Note for you to know about the Dec. issue specifically:
In Dec., the price of pesticides TC was high, on average. However, in late Dec., some insecticides saw decreases in prices, because suppliers reduced their quotations to boost sales at the year end.
Companies were busy expanding their market shares. Jiangsu Kaichen is planning to enter the methoxfenozide market with a technological upgrading project; Beijing Mindleader is working to further develop its business of insecticide formulations with a plan to invest in a project which includes the production lines for 10,000 t/a of formulations and packaging bottles. In addition, Nantong Jiangshan announced in early Dec. its intention to build a diazinon TC project; Nanjing Red Sun intends to buy intermediate asset of its controlling shareholder; Shandong Hailir will probably obtain the registration of tolfenpyrad TC.
New pesticide enterprises shall abide by the new rules and regulations stipulated in the Emission Standard of Air Pollutants for Pesticides Industry from 1 Jan., 2019 onwards, but the old ones are allowed to be subject to them starting on 1 July., 2020.
The MOA has amended some rules and regulations to simplify procedures. For instance, enterprises applying for a license to produce pesticides have no need to submit a copy of Business License to the provincial authorities.
The chemical parks of Guannan, Guanyun, and Xiangshui counties will see another 6-month period when new projects will not be approved.
In terms of pests, it is predicted that an area of 320 million ha*time (4.80 billion mu*time) will see pests, which is more serious than that in typical years.
