Abstract

This Manufacturing Insights presents the latest survey results from Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ business and IT priorities. The findings show an increasing trend at the overall efficiency of the processes in the product life-cycle management (PLM) area. The manufacturing industry in APEJ considers driving efficiency into the product development process.

According to Christopher Holmes, vice president, Manufacturing Insights, IDC Asia/Pacific, "manufacturing companies are looking at the entire business to see where they can save costs, and the product development process is no exception. We expect companies to focus on gaining control of the process and to invest in tools to facilitate its efficiency. We also expect to see greater collaboration among suppliers, design partners, and customers."
