Unified Communications and Collaboration: Public Sector Investment and Adoption Trends in Western Europe
Unified Communications and Collaboration (UC&C) solutions continue to make inroads into public sector organizations in Western Europe. The most recent IDC Government Insights vertical markets survey results found that when combined, more than 48% of central and local governments in Western Europe have a UC&C solution in place and investment continues.
"The communications infrastructure is the main information artery for any government organization and a roadmap that outlines what will be deployed in the short term and how it will evolve over the next five or so years is important," said Jan Duffy, EMEA research director, IDC Government Insights. "The overall implementation strategy defines the synergies across systems and platforms and most important it ensures continuity over time. Both the roadmap and the strategy should be revisited periodically to avoid technical obsolescence and confirm continued interoperability and synergy."
