Takeda reported net sales of ¥935,213 million for the nine months ended 31st December 2005, a 7% increase over the previous year's corresponding period, supported by higher sales of in-house ethical drugs. Takeda's pipeline is largely dominated by new indications/ formulations for its core products Actos, Takepron, Blopress and Lupron. • Rozerem, an in-house developed melatonin MT1/MT2 agonist, was launched in September 2005 and is in Phase III trials in the EU and Japan for insomnia.
  • Lubiprostone has been approved for chronic idiopathic constipation in the US, and has been filed for approval in this indication in Japan.
