Abstract

Film used in BLU can be put into four categories according to the functions. There are Diffusion Film, Prism Film, Reflection Film, and Reflective Polarizing Film. Lately, films that operate both diffusing function and light concentrating function simultaneously are being introduced. They are commonly known as Multi-function Prism Function and Micro Lens Film. The usage of these films is expanding.

This report is composed with total of six chapters. Chapter 1 discusses basic articles of BLU and especially explains basic structure and technology of various films according to function and structure. It also discusses competition condition of BLU film industry and technology development direction.

Chapter 2 explores Reflective Polarizing Film. Reflective Polarizing Film is categorized into multi-layer type (DBEF), CLC type, and wire grid type. Each technology is explained upon its principle, structure and material, manufacturing technology, and development direction.

Chapter 3 discusses Prism Film. It explains structure and concentrated light principle in detail. Manufacturing technologies are categorized into hard mold, soft mold, and melt extrusion process to compare strength and weakness of each manufacturing technology.

Chapter 4 explores Compound Prism Film. Compound Prism Film has a basic prism form with a modified pattern shape. This film is categorized into a type with modification on top side and another type with modification on valley side to compare and explain manufacturing technology.

Chapter 5 explores 1-Sheet solution. It technologically analyzes main approach methods that the industry is trying to compose 1-Sheet.

Lastly, chapter 6 analyzes and forecasts BLU film market. Market forecast is discussed along with technologies explored above to allow report readers to predict future market outlook.
